 | 31/5/2010- The West Wallsend Workers Bluebells continued their
undefeated streak with a 2-1 victory over Valentine Phoenix yesterday
afternoon at Varley Park.
The Bluebell's opened the scoring in the sixth minute when a Jack O'Toole
cross from the right was headed home at the far post by Michael sessions.
The Bluebell's had a chance to double their lead before halftime when they
were awarded a penalty, however, Todd McManus's strike was well saved by
Chris Bowling in the Phoenix goal. Valentine were allowed to equalise early
in the second half through a penalty of there own was converted by Nathan Gonclaves.
However, the Bluebell's were not to be denied victory when a well worked
free kick enabled Jacob Bailey to head home to keep the home side level with
Edgeworth at the top of the table.

0-1. |

 | 24/5/2010- The West Wallsend Workers Bluebells had to
settle for a draw in yesterday afternoons Coalfields derby after conceding a
late equaliser against Weston Workers Bears at Thomas and Coffey Park. The
Bluebell's started the match up tempo and made a few opportunities but
failed to trouble the Bears goals. However, after 20 mins a freekick swung
in by Peter McPherson was headed clear by the Bears defence straight to John
Majurovski who volleyed home his ninth goal of the season to give the
Bluebell's the lead. Weston made few clear cut chances until the shadows of
half time when Jamie Subat was denied from close range by a brilliant save
by Rob Askew. In the second half Weston turned up the heat and with the
introduction of Rhys Tippet began to have the better of the play and the
better of the chances. The Bluebell's defence was
its usual resolute self until the last minutes of the match when Chris
Cousins headed home a corner to equalise. In
the lower grades, Under 23's drew 0-0, while the Under 18's lost 3-2. |

17/5/2010- The West Wallsend Workers Bluebells won a
third consecutive fixture when they defeated Edgeworth 1-0 in the local
derby on Sunday. The win lifted the Bluebell's ahead of Edgeworth into
outright second position on the ladder. The game was the usual tense and
close affair between both sides as has developed since the Bluebell's
regained their position in the the NBN State League. As per the last six
encounters this one was decided by a one goal margin with Jack O'Toole
curling in a left foot strike mid way through the second half to give the
Bluebell's their first win against Edgeworth since the 1994 season. The home
side also kept their first clean sheet of the season thanks in part to a sterling
display by Rob Askew in goals. In
the lower grades, Under 23's went down 4-6 in a high scoring encounter, while the Under 18's
lost 2-0. |
 |
8/5/2010- The West Wallsend Workers Bluebells climbed
temporarily to the top of the ladder this afternoon after defeating
Broadmeadow Magic 2-1 at Varley Park. Both sides had chances in a scrappy,
physical affair but two headed goals by John Majurovski either side of half
time gave the Bluebell's a 2-0 lead. Broadmeadow tried to get back in the
game but the Bluebell's defence were resolute until injury time when Magic
scored a consolation.. In
the lower grades, Under 23's drew 3-3, while the Under 18's where
convincingly beaten 10-0. |

2/5/2010- The West Wallsend Workers Bluebells returned
to the winners circle this afternoon with a convincing 5-1 victory over the
Toronto Awaba Stags. John Majurovski was the hero as he bagged four goals,
to take his season tally to six. Tom Walker scored the other goal as the
Bluebell's posted their biggest win since 2007. The Bluebell's had a
convincing two nil lead at half time through goal each by Majurovski and
Walker. Majurovski's second goal just minutes into the second half ended the
match as a contest, however Christian Okonkwo did manage a consolation goal
for the Stags which was only a sideshow to Majurovski's three second half
goals. In
the lower grades, Under 23's had a convincing 4-0 win, while the Under 18's
conceded a late equaliser and had to settle for a 2-2 draw. |

 | 29/4/2010- The
West Wallsend Bluebell’s progressed to the third round of the Solo Cup
after defeating there oldest rivals Wallsend last night in a local derby cup
encounter. Unfortunately Wallsend proved not as competitive as during their
illustrious past as a young Bluebell outfit demolished the struggling former
giants of the game 13-1. Michael Sessions with five goals and Bryce Baber
with three goals being the main destroyers. |
 |
25/4/2010- The West Wallsend Workers Bluebells suffered
their first loss of the season on Friday Night when they were defeated 3-2
by Edgeworth Eagles in the first local derby of the season.
John Majurovski had two
great chances to give the Bluebell’s the lead however he was denied by two
great saves by Ben Smith in the Edgeworth goals. Joel Woods did open the scoring
for Edgeworth when he headed home from a corner. Edgies lead was short lived
as the Bluebell’s replied from a goal mouth scramble after a corner with
Shannon Mangovski finishing.
Edgeworth
went ahead again midway through the second half when he headed home a free
kick from outside the box but again the Bluebell’s showed their tenacity
when Jacob Bailey headed home to equalise for the second time. Just when the
game looked like ending in a draw Paul Wheeler nodded home a corner to give
the Eagles all three points and snatch victory for the second time in as
many seasons in the last seconds of the match. In the lower grades, Under
23's rued a missed penalty in a 2-2 draw, while the Under 18's scored a 2-0
win.

 | 19/4/2010- The West Wallsend Workers Bluebells had to settle
for a 2-2 draw in this afternoons match against South Cardiff Gunners at
Varley Park. The Bluebell's got off to the worse possible start when they
went behind to an own goal. Things got worse for the Bluebell's when Jarryd
Johnson extended the Gunners lead 15 minutes later. However, the Bluebell's
halved the deficit shortly before half time when Tom Walker finished off a
goal mouth scramble. In the second half John Majurovski equalised and had
the chance to win the match from the penalty spot but unfortunately his shot
was well saved by Jordan Griffiths in the South Cardiff goal. In the lower grades, Under 23's
scored a comprehensive 4-0 win, while the Under 18's were defeated 5-3. |

 | 12/4/2010- The West Wallsend Workers Bluebells scored their
first win of the 2010 season yesterday when they defeated Valentine Phoenix
3-1 at Cahill Oval. The Bluebell's fell behind early in the first half to a
Nathan Gonclaves goal, but equalised shortly after when a Tom Walker cross was
deflected by a Phoenix player into his own net. Disaster struck 35 minutes in
when goalkeeper Rob Askew was sent from the field following a mistimed challenge.
However the ten men Bluebell's responded and through second half goals by Todd
McManus and John Majurovski enabled the Bluebell's to take home all three
points. In the lower grades, Under 23's scored a 3-2 win, while the Under 18's
drew 1-1. |
 | 5/4/2010- The West Wallsend Workers Bluebells opened their
season with a draw against Coalfields rivals the Weston Workers Bears. New
signing John Majurovski was unlucky not to open the scoring in the sixth
minute when his fierce shot rebounded off the cross bar and the rebound
went just wide. It was the Bears however who took the lead through Jamie
Subat with a dipping shot from outside the 18. The Bears probably had the
better of the first half and deserved thier half-time lead. The Bluebell's
picked up a gear in the second half and made the better of the chances and
were rewarded when Todd McManus headed home a John Majurovski free kick.
Despite some good chances for both sides the match ended 1-1. In the lower grades, Under 23's
lost 0-4, while the Under 18's won 2-0. |
